While some galleries present occasional exhibitions and activity programs designed for children, the Ipswich Art Gallery’s Children’s Gallery was Australia’s first permanent, interactive space especially designed for three to twelve year-olds.
Ipswich Art Gallery is located in the restored old town hall in the heart of Ipswich central, close to cafes & parks, and just a short walk from Ipswich Railway Station, bus stops and car parks.
The Gallery presents a program of changing exhibitions and heritage displays, special events, performances, family activities and workshops. Visit the Gallery’s website for current exhibition and event information.
The Gallery’s aim is to help children discover the world of visual arts in a fun environment and to provide resources and programs which help parents and teachers with their child’s art education and appreciation.
Ipswich Art Gallery is a major cultural initiative of Ipswich City Council and supported by the Ipswich Arts Foundation.
