Cauliflower Pizza Base

19 October 2015

Who doesn’t love Pizza??  It doesn’t have to be an unhealthy family treat, all you have to do is ditch the store bought pizza bases and make this super healthy pizza at home with the kids.

Get the kids involved, get them to pick the toppings they like, get them to help you create the tastiest pizza ever.

  • 1 head of cauliflower
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup almond meal
  • 1 tbs dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper

Pizza Base

Preheat oven to 200 degrees, and line a baking tray with baking paper.

Coarsely chop the cauliflower and place in a food processor until you have a fine rice like texture.

Measure 3 cups of the cauliflower rice and place into a mixing bowl.  Add the almond meal, oregano, salt and pepper and mix with hands.

Add the eggs and using your hands mix well until combined and comes together as a ball.

Transfer to the baking paper and form into a pizza base by flattening the dough with your hands.

Bake for 25-30 mins or until golden.

Pizza Toppings

While the pizza base is baking, prepare your pizza toppings.

On this particular pizza I used red onion, grated pumpkin, spinach, sundried tomato, feta and olives, and I used a red pesto for the pizza base but try it with whatever you like!

Once the cauliflower pizza base is cooked, arrange your toppings and then place back in the oven for 5-10 mins. Voila!
