Coomera Anglican College students represent Gold Coast

A group of 15 students from Coomera Anglican College will represent the Gold Coast at the third annual State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP) Middle School South-East QLD at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University in Brisbane this week.

The students will join 979 other young musicians from 127 schools for an intensive three days of music making from 31 May to 2 June, concluding with five Grand Finale concerts on Sunday 3 June.

Coomera Anglican College’s Head of Music, Liz Smith, said the College was thrilled to have students participating in the program to further their skills and musical development.

“We are very proud of our talented students from Years 5 – 8 who will represent the College across a number of instruments including Voice, Flute, Trombone, Violin and Euphonium at SHEP this week,” said Mrs Smith.

“SHEP will give our participating students the unique opportunity to collaborate with a team of eminent Australian and International conductors while advancing skills, musicality and performance levels on their chosen instrument,” she said.

SHEP Middle School – South-East Queensland is one of 12 Brisbane and regional Queensland music programs run through Queensland Conservatorium’s Open Conservatorium, showcasing the breadth and depth of artistic talent being nurtured by teachers, parents and schools throughout Queensland.
