Little Lifesavers – Redcliffe
About the Event
The Little Lifesavers program is a great introduction to surf lifesaving for children aged 5 to 11 without having to travel to a surf beach or join a surf life saving club. Throughout the program, children have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of water activities, beach games and rescue techniques to teach them how to stay safe in and around water.
Surf Life Saving Queensland runs the community-based Little Lifesavers program at several locations across Queensland, including the Gold Coast (Tallebudgera Creek), Brisbane (South Bank Parklands), Redlands (Raby Bay Foreshore), Springfield (Orion Lagoon), Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore River), Townsville (Riverway Lagoon) and Cairns (Esplanade Lagoon) and Redcliffe (Settlement Cove Lagoon).
Running in Queensland since 1993, the Little Lifesavers program features highly-skilled surf lifesavers who guide participants through a structured program and teaches them vital skills that they will keep with them for life.
This program is designed to be fun, engaging and a great way to educate children on the important aspects of water safety, whilst also increasing their skills and confidence in the water with a variety of water safety and lifesaving techniques.
