Embrace the warm Queensland weather at Streets Beach, Australia’s only inner-city, man-made beach. This urban oasis offers stunning views of Brisbane’s city skyline. Surf Life Saving Queensland is on patrol all year round, helping everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time.

Explore South Bank’s native animals and nature
Celebrate National Biodiversity Month this September by exploring a few of South Bank’s natural attractions. Take a walk along Clem Jones Promenade and explore the Epicurious Garden, where you can be inspired and learn about growing your own produce. The kids can even pick fresh herbs from various pots to cook at home! We recommend heading to Picnic Island Green late in the afternoon to spot the native Rakali, Australia’s little otter.

Meet Olympians and Paralympics at the Welcome Home Celebration 
Join in the Welcome Home Celebration at South Bank’s Cultural Forecourt on Saturday 14 September from 10am to 12pm. Celebrate the remarkable achievements of Queensland athletes who competed in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This exciting event, presented by the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council, will feature live entertainment, delicious food and a variety of activities, making it a fantastic day out for the whole family.

Get Creative at GOMA’s Art Box for Kids (Saturday, 13 July – Sunday, 27 October)
Calling all young artists! This unique exhibition at GOMA invites kids to meet Ngugi artist, Elisa Jane Carmichael through an interactive video. Then, it’s time to get hands-on with the Shell Adornments activity – design your own paper shell necklace inspired by the beautiful eugarie shells from Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island).
