19 December 2024: Back to school
Take a seat in Miss Birdwhistle’s 1890s classroom and see what it was like to be a student over 100 years ago. Practise your cursive handwriting on a slate board and be on your best behaviour – Miss Birdwhistle has a cane!
9 January 2025: A Suburban Dream
Assist 1950s housewife, Mrs Gamble, in her kitchen and help her make butter for her family’s afternoon tea, taste testings included and encouraged! Relax afterwards and watch an old TV program on a vintage television set with Mrs Gamble.
16 January 2025: Wash Day
Roll up your sleeves and learn just how tough the weekly laundry was in the past. You’ll be up to your elbows in water and suds as you scrub the clothes and squeeze them through a mangle as you help Mrs Berrycloth do the weekly family washing.
