Want to be an Architect for a day?

Event: Want to be an Architect for a day?
Date: 09/10/2021
Location: USC Auditorium, Innovation Centre, 90 Sippy Downs Drive, Sippy Downs
Time: 9:30 am

High school students (aged from 14–18 years) thinking about studying architecture and design have an opportunity to learn more about the profession at a special workshop.

Sunshine Coast Open House, the Australian Institute of Architects (QLD Chapter), USC and the Queensland architecture schools (Bond University, Griffith University, Queensland University of Technology, and The University of Queensland) would like to extend an invitation to students in years 10, 11 and 12 considering a career in architecture and design.

Students will participate in a workshop, and discover what it’s like to study architecture, design, urban design and associated subjects including town planning, and sustainability.

Students will enjoy:

  • Speaking with current students, graduates, academics and practitioners about architecture, design, planning and sustainability pathways.
  • Learning through making with dynamic and fun activities including model making and design sketching.
  • Hear from architectural practices who will provide an insight about what it is like to be an architect day-to-day.
