DESCRIPTION:Lights on the Lake Community Festival will be held on Sunday 7 December 2025 between 4 – 8 pm in Crummunda Park\, Coongarra Esp\, Wurtulla on the banks of the beautiful Lake Currimundi. \nThe fun starts at 4pm with music and entertainment all afternoon and evening on the Caloundra Community Bendigo Bank Branch Stage and supervised children’s activities\, from 4 – 6pm. Try your hand beating out a rhythm in the Sunshine Toyota Drumming Circle (all ages). Your kid’s will flock to the TJM Face Painting stand and there will be an indigenous weaving workshop from Yuluwirri Weaving you can try your hand at. All activities are free. \nTreat yourself and the kids to some great food with plenty of tasty choices. DESCRIPTION:Yandina is getting ready to sing\, celebrate and shine as the Yandina Community Christmas Carols return for the second year on Sunday 7 December at Yandina State School. \nLast year’s event drew entertainers and families from many of the hinterland communities\, filling the evening with joyful music\, shared connection and plenty of festive cheer.  After such a warm response\, organisers are thrilled to bring the tradition back – bigger\, brighter and with even more free community entertainment. \nThis year’s carols will once again feature performances by local school choirs\, dance groups\, and bands alongside talented local artists and musicians from the region.  One of the highlights every year is a special visit from Santa\, who will arrive in true hinterland style with the support of the Yandina/North Arm and Maroochy River Rural Fire Brigades. \n \nFamilies are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and settle in for the evening with entertainment starting on the community stage at 1pm.  A selection of food trucks will be on site\, offering dinner options for those who’d prefer not to pack a basket and a Christmas market will showcase local makers\, crafters and small business owners – offering a relaxed opportunity to support the “shop local\, buy local” values that are so important to our region. \nFree kids activities including face painting and petting zoo are also planned to support this free family friendly event. This year will also see the return of the Yandina P&C Mega Raffle\, featuring over $12 000 worth of prizes generously donated by local businesses.  Tickets are available to purchase before and during the event\, with the raffle drawn on the night.  All funds raised go directly back into supporting the Yandina P&C. \nThe evening is set to conclude with a much-loved community fireworks display\, lighting up the sky at 7pm. \nFIND OUT MORE
