SUMMARY:Gold Coast Kokoda Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The Gold Coast Kokoda Challenge from 18 to 19 July 2026 is Australia’s toughest team endurance event. \nIt is a grueling\, 96km cross-country trek through the spectacular Gold Coast hinterland. These numbers hold special significance in the history of the 1942 Kokoda Campaign; 96km is the exact length of the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea. The time limit of 39 hours is in honour of the 39th Battalion\, who were the first troops to defend Australia along the Kokoda Track. \nOther distances includes 30km and 48km. \n \nEach team of 3-5 participants (with the help of their Support Crew) treks the 96km course along fire trails\, crossing creeks and climbing summits of over 4\,000m of vertical elevation. The goal is to finish as a complete team in honour of the spirit forged on the Kokoda Track in 1942: courage\, endurance\, mateship and sacrifice. \nOther Kokoda Challenge events are held in Sunshine Coast\, Brisbane and Sydney. \nFIND OUT MORE

DESCRIPTION:The Rainbow Families Nerang Playgroup is designed with LGBTQIA+ families in mind\, a safe\, welcoming space where kids (0–5\, plus older siblings in the holidays) can play\, learn\, and grow while parents and carers connect over cuppas and conversations. \nThey will also have a play therapist from The Benevolent Society joining each week to co-host\, bringing extra support\, ideas\, and a whole lot of fun for both kids and parents.  Think: free play\, fun activities\, story time\, music\, and plenty of giggles. \nIt runs weekly (including school holidays\, except Christmas)\, so it’s a beautiful way to build routine and community. \nNo matter what your family looks like\, two mums\, two dads\, solo parents\, chosen family\, carers\, you belong here. \nFIND OUT MORE
