Currimundi Hall is holding an Open Day on the theme of “Taking time for mental health”.
Some of our current tenants will offer “taster” sessions of yoga, mindfulness, indoor bowling and dancing. We hope to develop community awareness of the courses available at the Hall, which are primarily aimed at well-being, relaxation and fitness. By increasing awareness, we hope more people will take part in some of the activities and overcome loneliness and social isolation. For example, yoga practice teaches deep focus and mindful breathing, two important elements in helping to relieve depression and anxiety. The same could be said for dancing, tai chi and mindfulness training.
Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be available as well as the opportunity to talk to the leaders of the various activities. We also hope that visitors to the Open Day will become active members of the Currimundi Sports & Recreation Association.
