Matthew Flinders Year 7 2023 Information Evening
Are you considering a Year 7 start for your child at Matthew Flinders Anglican College in 2023? Join the College for its Information Evening for all new families.
The event will be held at the Flinders Performance Centre on Tuesday, February 22 at 6:30pm.
At Flinders, Year 7 marks the beginning of secondary school and also of the Middle School journey from Years 7-9.
The event is an opportunity to hear from the Head of Middle School, Anita Gibson. Mrs Gibson will discuss the innovative Middle School programs at Flinders.
You’ll learn about the school’s middle school philosophy, which is collaborative, outcome-based and centred on the learner. The approach supports adolescents of this age and fosters their sense of purpose, empowerment, independence, and success.
Throughout Year 7, students learn and gather in a two-storey, state-of-the-art facility that opened as part of the Flinders’ Masterplan. The new Year 7 Precinct gives the school’s students a dedicated space to grow as a cohort and develop a sense of belonging, confidence and connectedness as they transition into the secondary school.

The event is COVID-19 Safe. Seating and space in the Performance Centre supports social distancing.
Health Guidelines
To ensure the health and safety of the Flinders community, visitors will adhere to the following guidelines:

- Adults must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination
- Masks are mandatory for adults and secondary students
- Maintain physical distancing
- If you or a family member are unwell or are a close contact, please do not come on campus.
