Designed primarily for students from Years 5-8, council’s award-winning Kids in Action program encourages students to take responsibility for their learning through the planning and delivery of environmental projects.
Each year the program focuses learning experiences and projects through an annual theme.
Kids in Action 2021
The United Nations has declared 2021:
International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development
International Year of the Elimination of Child Labour
International Year of Peace and Trust, and
Year of Indigenous Tourism.
Inspired by these themes and the challenges posed by 2020, this year’s program will focus on moving ‘beyond crisis’ into a future that encapsulates visions and models of hope. Our 2021 theme explores new ways of understanding, appreciating and engaging with hopeful sustainability concepts, models and wisdoms that are both traditional and contemporary.
