Luminous Lantern Parade 2022

South Bank lights up to celebrate multiculturalism.
Keep your eyes peeled for a glowing giraffe, a shining koala and a regal lion. These are just some of the lanterns set to brighten Brisbane’s inky night sky at the spectacular 2022 Luminous Lantern Parade.
Now in its 15th year, Luminous is one of Queensland’s largest welcome events. It celebrates multiculuralism and its spectacular use of light symbolises hope and creates a welcome for new Queenslanders, including migrants, refugees, international students and people seeking asylum.
Commencing at Flowstate, South Bank, the parade winds its way down the promenade taking in the sites of the city skyline before stopping at the South Bank Piazza. Here you’ll enjoy a vibrant world music concert and other performances.
The Luminous Lantern Parade attracts supporters from across the community including all levels of government, corporate and community organisations.
