Brrr… anyone else feeling chilly?
Though the mornings are a bit of a struggle, I love these cold winter weeks (there really aren’t many!), with crisp days and clear blue skies. The beaches are beautiful, the parks are green, and it gets just cold enough to remind you of what a beautiful corner of the world we live in.
In an effort to preserve this incredible little slice of paradise for our children and our children’s children, this issue we are all about living clean and green. So, we get the low-down from the fabulous Charlie Thompson and Georgia Lawson over at The Clean Collective, on the many simple steps we can all make to detox our homes. And then...
On the Sunshine Coast:
Our Education feature takes a look at the exciting Agricultural Science program at Nambour Christian College, ensuring all of their students grow with a connection to nature and land. And we also take a tour of the inspiring sustainability projects being implemented at Pacific Lutheran College Early Learning Centre, nurturing their littlest students to develop a lifelong love for the environment.
Exploring what’s happening on the doorstep at the moment, we head to Aura to find out all about the family-friendly initiatives in store for this rapidly growing area of the Coast. And for those little ones with energy to burn, we check out the best spots for indoor play across the Sunshine Coast.
Want to experience a little piece of history? We chat to a volunteer on the much-loved Mary Valley Rattler to find out the secrets of this iconic train line. And as always, we have a round-up of the best events the Sunshine Coast has to offer throughout July and August as well as the usual local news, reviews and more.
On the Gold Coast:
Kids need to burn off some energy? We check out the best spots for indoor play across the Gold Coast. And we chat to Billy Slater, to find out all about the fun sports program that is taking the Gold Coast by storm. (‘Scuse the pun!)
Our Education feature heads to Sheldon College where we find out about the importance of continuing to learn to swim throughout these colder months. And Billy Slater joins us to chat about his, to find out about his fun sports program.
With love and warm winter woolies!
