NEWS: Out NOW! Pick up your Nov/Dec issue!

01 November 2017

Yay, can everyone feel that summer BUZZ in the air? The days are getting longer, there is sand in EVERY pocket again, and that crazy run to the end of the year has us all chasing our tails a little! But Christmas is just around the corner and the summer break is even closer!

I must be honest, this is a bit of a special issue for us. There’s been several changes behind the scenes at Kids on the Coast/in the City in the last month, with the previous owner deciding to move onto new things and myself and Helen taking the plunge to take ownership ourselves. We are super-excited to see where this journey takes us, so watch this space for the many plans we have in the pipeline.

Talking community, this issue we are looking LOCAL, where we celebrate everything amazing about our region. We check in with a few mums across the region who have made the bold step to launch their own business and find out the secrets behind their success. Our EDUCATION feature visits two local schools using psychology methodologies in the classroom with impressive results, and we share an amazing creative project from one local photographer whose latest venture is to tell the unique motherhood stories of 50 women. We also get ready for the summer break, stepping beyond our immediate doorstep to explore the many highlights on offer across the region that are only a day-trip away.

Not forgetting Christmas (gulp #notstartedshoppingyet), we have a round-up of the many festive events across the region and a fabulous Christmas Gift Guide for those in need of some inspiration. And as always, we have the latest news, school notices, events and fab local products to fill those stockings.

If you have a story to share or any feedback, just drop me a line at I’d love to hear from you!

After spending over 20 years on the editorial desks of some the leading magazine publishing houses of London and Sydney, Angela swapped the city frenzy for a Queensland sea change. Now owner and editor of Kids on the Coast and Kids in the City, she loves spending her days documenting and travelling the crazy road of family life alongside every mum and dad.

When she’s not at her desk buried in magazine stories, you’ll often find her entrenched in a heated game of beach cricket, or being utterly outrun by her inventive seven-year-old and rambunctious threenager.
