As parents, there are many times we feel like we are failing, and it seems like this parenting gig is just one step too tough. But you know what, you are doing an awesome job. And here’s why…
- You handled some form of bambino explosion without a second thought – could be a tantrum, could be a code brown, could be baby spew. Water off a duck’s back.
- Your kids are wearing clothes. (Yes, pyjamas count; no, socks DON’T have to match.)
- You are dressed (see point 2 above).
- You got out of the house with littlies in tow, AND without having to go back for something.
- You remembered to put your kid’s leak-proof sippy cup in a plastic bag.
- You made it to school/kindy/work on time. No scratch that, you made it there as soon as you humanly could.
- You wanted to scream, but instead you bravely engaged your ‘Mary Poppins’ voice instead of your ‘Batman’ voice.
- Your kids ate a healthy dinner. Nope, scratch that too. Your kids ate something for dinner, with a small (uneaten) piece of carrot on the side. Yes, vegemite toast counts. It has B Vitamins, right?
- You GENUINELY attempted to do some with arts and crafts before popping on Bluey.
- You hid in the bathroom for 10 minutes with your phone and they didn’t find you.
- You managed to wash their hair without getting soap in their eyes.
- You managed to wash their hair. Soap in eyes is totally ok.
- Your kids are happy.
- You love them more than anything in the world.
- You can’t wait to do it all over again tomorrow.
