Free Ready Steady Go Kids preschool sports program set to resume

A free fortnightly outdoor preschool sports program is proving a hit with families at Stockland’s Pallara community, with a new term beginning on Saturday, 20 July 2019.

Stockland is inviting families throughout the region to join in the fun of the free physio-designed Ready Steady Go Kids sessions, aimed at improving motor skills and coordination in youngsters aged from one-and-a-half years to six in a fun, relaxed environment.

The classes, which run for 45 minutes and teach kids the fundamentals of 10 different sports, are being held every second Saturday at 9am during the school term at Central Park, at Pallara Avenue, Pallara.

David Laner, Queensland General Manager for Residential Communities at Stockland, said the classes reflected Stockland’s commitment to creating a well-connected, family-friendly community at Pallara.

“The children taking part in the Ready Steady Go Kids preschool sports program not only build their self-confidence and motor skills, but they get to make new friends, along with their families,’’ Mr Laner said.

“The Ready Steady Go Kids program is just one of the ways in which we are bringing people together at Pallara by providing local opportunities for them to lead active and healthy lives.

“A five-kilometre parkrun is held here at Brookbent Road Park every Saturday from 7am and like all of our communities, Pallara incorporates a network of cycling and walking paths as well as parks and open spaces within 400 metres of each home.’’
