Stockland has opened an exciting $1.6 million park at its rapidly growing Foreshore Coomera community on the Gold Coast.
The launch of the brand new Eagle Tree Park, which features a state-of-the-art playground, was marked with face painting, a free circus workshop, mobile zoo, funky hair creations and a jumping castle.
Featuring a twisting slide and an array of innovative equipment from swings to a play tower, along with picnic shelters, barbecue facilities, a basketball half-court, and a kick-around space, the park is set to become a recreational go-to for local families.
Queensland General Manager for Residential Communities at Stockland, David Laner, said the opening of Eagle Tree Park marked the latest milestone for the community which this year has welcomed its first residents.
“It is exciting to watch our vision for Foreshore Coomera rapidly becoming a reality,” Mr Laner said, “with our newest park a valuable addition to the infrastructure we are putting in place to foster active and heathy lifestyles.’’
Located at the corner of Foreshore Street and Dales Way, Eagle Tree Park complements the recently opened Foreshore Jetty Park, which incorporates a launch pontoon for kayaks and an idyllic setting for family get-togethers and barbecues. Just a short drive to Coomera Train Station, Foreshore Coomera is within easy access to the M1 Motorway.
Councillor Cameron Caldwell (Division 3) congratulated Stockland on its vision for creating facilities at Foreshore Coomera for bringing people together.
“The strong attendance at this opening is a reflection of the region’s fine community spirit and attests to Eagle Tree Park’s place as a popular hub for families into the future,’’ Cr Caldwell said.
Work has begun on the adjacent Coomera State High School, which is expected to open for Year 7 students at the start of first term next year. Stage one of the project is to include junior classrooms, sports centre and an oval.
Coomera East Shopping Centre is also next door to the community, and the new $470 million Westfield Coomera is just two kilometres away with outstanding retail, dining and entertainment options.
Sports facilities, employment options, a range of public and private schools, childcare facilities, tertiary education, health and retail services are close by, along with Gold Coast theme parks and four renowned golf courses.
