Challenging Minds is presenting a series of innovation workshops at Coomera Tafe, which are perfect for kids with a creative and entrepreneurial mind.

Designed for kids in Year 5, 6, 7 and 8 (those aged 10-13) who like a real-life challenge, these interactive workshops focus on a range of topics including virtual reality, design thinking, and biomimicry.

The exhibition shares Brisbane-based artist Martin Edge’s joyful view of the world – in particular, his travel adventures documented in his colourful paintings.

For the budding marine biologist, NaturallyGC is running a Sea Creature workshop. Kids can learn about a variety of marine animals. Discover how they move, eat and protect themselves. Kids will also learn the important roles these animals play in the ocean ecosystem. Get hands-on with some of the ocean artefacts such as seashells, coral, shark teeth and shark eggs. Get up close to some of Australia’s most beautiful live marine animals, including sea stars, sea cucumbers, hermit crabs, sea snails and sea urchins.

For absolutely every kid, Bricktionary: The Interactive LEGO® brick Exhibition is a must-do these school holidays. From life-sized animals to fashion and fantasy, discover the biggest and best LEGO creations.

Inspired by Ryan ‘The Brickman’ McNaught’s latest book, The Bricktionary: The Ultimate A-Z of LEGO®, the world premiere exhibition is built to inspire LEGO builders’ imaginations. It showcases some of the largest and latest brick models, including some never-before-shown from the television show LEGO Masters Australia.

Big City Lights

A highlight of the cultural calendar for the Gold Coast, Big City Lights is being delivered by Placemakers* Gold Coast (best known for the city’s flagship annual arts festival – Bleach*). The program highlights Queensland and the Gold Coast as a cultural destination to Australia and the world. It features immersive audio-visual experiences, large-scale digital works, 3D-mapping and unexpected projection sites transforming the Gold Coast’s everyday urban spaces.
