School holidays are in full swing in Queensland. Which means there are HEAPS of kids activities this weekend on the Gold Coast!
Here are our favourites… ⇓
Something to relieve the boredom
Let’s give a high-5 to all the Gold Coast shopping centres putting on things to do with kids over the holidays.
For the little ones, CoComelon is taking over Tweed City! Visit Tweed City from 4 – 17 July to experience their FREE CoComelon activity space, where your little ones can enjoy mini bowling, a colourful art and craft zone, plus they will have the opportunity to meet everyone’s favourite, JJ!
The Oasis is busting with winter treats for adults and children. Surrounded by snowy pine trees and winter-themed props, this winter school holiday kids can create their very own snow globe to take home.
Aaaannnnnd Westfield Helensvale is running their fabulous Camp Helensvale for their Westfield Plus Members (download the free app here if you aren’t a member yet). Your Little Camper will love the wildlife education shows, s’mores making, friendship bracelet making, reptile and snake experience, barn dancing and much more. Come back each day and try a new activity!
Something to inspire
HOTA is the place to be inspired these holidays, with their new Children’s Gallery Exhibition ‘Postcards from the Edge’. The exhibition shares Brisbane-based artist Martin Edge’s joyful view of the world. In particular, his travel adventures documented in his colourful paintings.
Bricktionary: The Interactive LEGO Exhibition is also on at HOTA, for a creative morning of building and inspiration from the legendary Brickman.
To inspire those kids with an entrepreneurial mind, Coomera Tafe is hosting a number of Innovative Workshops for kids ages 10 – 13 this school holiday. Choose from topics such as Virtual Reality, Design Thinking and Biomimicry.
And if you fell your little one needs a dose of zen, the Mindful Kids Holiday Retreat is the perfect place. Kids will enjoy age-appropriate yoga asanas, playful relaxations, breathing exercises and meditations, storytelling, arts and craft, and make like-minded friendships.
Kids activities that are all about FUN!
School holidays are the ideal time to cut loose a little and have some fun. And there’s plenty of things to do with kids this week that are also fun for the whole family!
The HUGE Skyline Ferris Wheel has landed at Tweed Heads until July 17. Take to the skies and and enjoy sensational views of Tweed city from your own gondola. There is also a fully accessible gondola for those in a wheel chair.
Or cut some shapes on a Friday night at the Youth Disco at The Park Coomera. On the first Friday of every month The Park Coomera presents a Youth Dance Party for Under 12s. You can relax and enjoy some bar and kitchen specials, while the kids are being entertained by the amazing Chadd from The Magic Castle!
