With a huge range of school holiday activities for the kids, Sunshine Coast families are spoilt for choice this winter school holiday.
Don’t have time to sift through all the school holiday events? We’ve done the hard work for you! Here are some of our favourite winter school holiday activities on the Sunshine Coast.
Indoor school holiday activities
Noosa Civic has the par-fect activity to beat the freeze this winter with its Tropicana Putt Putt. Head into the centre and putt your way through six holes. Fruity objects, interesting obstacles and fun props will make this a fun challenge.
If you need reliable and super-fun school holiday care, HYPT has a fab school holiday vacation care program in store. Activities include Slime Time Fun, Mermaid Makeover, Dinosaur/Unicorn Festival and a LOL/Minecraft Party. There are so many activities planned for the winter break, your kid’s boredom is surely busted.
Also indoors, kids can visit the Eco Sanctuary at Sunshine Plaza. Kids will enjoy colouring-in craft activities and getting eco-educated by learning about the life cycle of a plastic bag. Be sure to collect your take home gift from the seedling station, which kickstarts a ‘grow your own’ adventure at home.
Rush Adventure is keeping things adventurous these school holidays, wall-to-wall indoor fun in air-conditioned comfort! Kids can run, climb and slide their way around a huge multi-level soft-play indoor playground, fly around the room on the Rush Coaster, or challenge themselves on the ninja and high ropes course.
And Kawana Shoppingworld is bringing the outdoors in this school holiday, with two weeks of FREE kids’ workshops! There will be nature-inspired craft workshops, Minions ‘Meet & Greet’, and NAIDOC kids’ painting with the Gubbi Gubbi mob.
Feel like a show? The Sunshine Coast comes alive these winter holidays when Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre presents the youth edition of the all-time classic, The Sound of Music! From the company that brought you Oliver!, Grease and The Wizard of Oz, this abridged version is a perfect outing for the whole family.
For the Disney fans, Little Seed presents The Little Mermaid Jnr, July 8-9 at The J, Noosa. Sing along to your favourites and enjoy a mesmerising underwater adventure with Ariel the mermaid.
School holiday special events
It might be chilly, but winter also (usually!) means clear blue skies for south-east Queensland. To make the most of these glorious sunny days, Mary Valley Rattler has a special deal these holidays. Ride the Mary Valley Rattler during the June-July holidays and kids receive a take home toy and a free ice cream in Rusty Rails Cafe! No matter what the weather, the Mary Valley Rattler is a fun, memorable and educational journey the kids will love.
Speaking of specials, Next Level High Ropes Adventure Park is running special twilight climbs during the school holidays. Clamber by the light of the moon and brave challenges more than 10 metres high. It’s a truly unique experience for the family!
Celebrating the release of the movie Jurassic World Dominion, Australia Zoo is hosting a zoo-wide dinosaur treasure hunt! The Irwin family will also feed the crocs every day from Saturday, June 25 to Thursday, June 30. Don’t miss their famous croc show when you visit.
