Council’s award-winning Healthy Sunshine Coast program has just given residents even more reasons to improve their health and wellbeing while enjoying the great outdoors with new programs being launched in October.
Community Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said Healthy Sunshine Coast’s popularity had grown significantly with more and more people taking up the opportunity to join in one of the many free or low cost classes delivered across the Coast.
“In addition to our partnership with TAFE Queensland’s fitness students, I am pleased to announce USC Sunshine Coast have partnered with the program by offering free yoga to be delivered by Yoga NRG at 6am on Mondays from October 8,” Cr McKay said.
“Outdoor community yoga has been extremely popular allowing people to be ‘at one’ with nature in serene locations such as Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens and a range of parks across the region.
“We are constantly adding new free or low cost classes to our Healthy Sunshine Coast program to suit everyone from new mums to seniors.
“Together we are really making a difference by aiming to be Australia’s most sustainable region – healthy, smart, creative.”
