Flagstone water play park opens

14 December 2019

Flagstone’s innovative treehouse-themed water play park has opened and will operate through the Christmas-New Year holidays.

Logan City Council partnered with Flagstone developer Peet Limited to deliver the $3.2 million facility to the booming suburb.

Facilities at the Flagstone water play area include:
• A 10-metre high treehouse-style structure with waterfalls and spiral staircase
• Two other smaller tree-shaped with water features
• A ‘zero-depth’ watercourse through the play area with jets, bubblers and blasters
• Shade structures, tables and seating

In line with Council’s sustainability policy, water use is minimised by recycling, filtering and sanitising. Evaporation is reduced through a combination of shade sails and non-porous surfaces.

Admission is free.

It will be open from 7:30am to 7:30pm every day through to April 1.

In the cooler months of April to September, the facility will operate between 8:30am to 6:30pm.

The water play area, in Flagstonian Drive, adds to the amenities in Flagstone Regional Recreation Park including an adventure playground, a skate plaza and a dog off-leash area.

A free community fun day will be held at the Flagstone water play park on Saturday, December 21 from noon to 6pm.

Activities will include circus performers and workshops, ugly Christmas rashie giveaways and a performance by the Dead Puppets Society, whose interactive mechanical pelicans were used in the making of the movie Storm Boy.
