Get out and about on the Gold Coast – for free! We have found some great family-friendly entertainment that is easy on the pocket. Check out these awesome activities!

The Social Markets

Every second Saturday, 4pm to 9pm, Mermaid Beach Bowls Club, 2430 Gold Coast Highway, Mermaid Beach

Enjoy free barefoot bowls, jumping castle and face painting, plus some excellent live music, while you browse the stalls selling jewellery, items for the home, fashion and beauty. Grab a bite to eat at the food truck alley, jammed with your favourite Gold Coast food trucks and stalls, and then stop for something refreshing in the beer garden. It’d be rude not to!

Surfers Paradise Park Run

Every Saturday, 7am, Gold Coast Cultural Precinct at Evandale Parklands

Get your exercise out of the way nice and early and join in this 5km fun run around Evandale Parklands. You can run at your own pace and enjoy a post-run coffee with the rest of the runners afterwards. +READ MORE

Chinatown Street Markets

Gold Coast Chinatown comes alive with Asian culture and there is plenty of children’s activities and entertainment. The markets offer a blend of cuisines from across Asia, or you can tie in a visit to the markets with dinner at one of the many local Chinese restaurants. +READ MORE

Salsa and Tango in the Park

Every second Saturday, 3pm to 6pm, The Porch Stage, Latinmania, 2 Marine Parade, Southport

Kids Disco!

Every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, 4pm to 8pm, The Foreshore, Surfers Paradise

Wander along the beautiful foreshore and browse the 120 market stalls, enjoying some great live entertainment. One of the largest markets on the Gold Coast, it includes fashion, jewellery, accessories, artworks, photographs, beauty products and homewares.
