After a big day of beaches, parks, playgrounds and hikes, kids can get a little bit hangry! Eating out with kids can be challenging to say the least, so we have have compiled a list of family friendly restaurants on the Gold Coast. If you want to go somewhere with kid friendly play areas, activity packs and delicious food then this list is for you!

With just a hop, skip and jump to the famous Surfers Paradise beach, Sandbar is a perfect place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner with the whole family. Whether you like burgers, salads or share plates there is something for everyone. The kids’ menus come on a colouring page so they can stay occupied while waiting for their meals to arrive. With child friendly staff, you can be sure to have a relaxed dining experience while enjoying the best view in Surfers Paradise.

Knox Dining


Located in the heart of Surfers Paradise, Knox Dining is a great place for a family meal. Using wholesome ingredients, the menu is fresh and delicious and infused with international flavours – a great way to satisfy the tastebuds. Knox Dining caters to people with food intolerances so whether you or your child is gluten free or vegan there is something for you. Parents can also sit back and relax with their coffee while the kids play on the jungle gym in the playground directly outside the doors. Free wifi is available, just ask one of the friendly staff for assistance.

Groove Train

Famous for its wood fired pizza, Groove Train is a FUN place to dine for the whole family. Using locally sourced ingredients there are over 100 dishes to choose from including a delicious kids’ menu. With their indoor sit-down space invaders video games, the the kids will be entertained while they wait for food to arrive. Whether you want a chilled out breakfast or an upbeat lively dinner experience, you can enjoy the lake views and the vibrant Robina Town Centre atmosphere.

Paddock Bakery

This gorgeous little gem with a white picket fence is more than a bakery. Paddock is a great place for the family to enjoy breakfast, brunch or lunch. If you just want to pop in for a coffee and snack, you can’t go past the delicious donuts and gooey tarts. For those with food intolerances there are gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. The Paddock Bakery is famous for their special hot chocolate, which both kids and adults will go crazy over! Enjoy all of this while the kids explore the vegetable patch and lavender garden.

Miami Marketta

The heart of Miami comes alive every Friday and Saturday nights at Miami Marketta. With food from all over the world, there is something for everyone – even the fussy eaters! With undercover seating for 450 people the whole family can enjoy a comfortable dining experience. For mums and dads there is locally brewed beer and boutique wine served at the Marketta Café and Cargo Bar. There is a main stage which hosts local and independent artists so the kids can dance the evening away. Miami Marketta is open to the public from 4pm and the best part – it’s FREE!

Dune Café

Located in the middle of Palm Beach, Currumbin Creek and Tarrabora Reserve, Dune Café is heaven for families. With the pirate playground within sight, and greenery for days, everyone will be happy! Along with its great coffee and smoothies, Dune Café has a great kids’ menu for breakfast and lunch and drinks to tickle them pink! Catering to gluten free and vegetarians, there is a big selection of organic foods to choose from. Whether you want to eat or just sit back with a drink and watch the kids play, Dune Café is for you.

Betty’s Burgers and Concrete Co.

With its beach shack meets 60’s diner vibes, Betty’s Burgers is a hotspot in Surfers Paradise. With their choice of six American style burgers and sides, there is something for everyone. After your meal you can enjoy a concrete - a frozen custard ice-cream, mixed with all sorts of ingredients including honeycomb, raspberries, chocolates! YUM! You’ll definitely be rolling out of there by the time you’ve finished eating!

Less than 50 meters from the beach you will find the popular local hang, BSKT Café. Known for their organic, gluten free and paleo options, BSKT has something for everyone. The kids’ menu is also a big hit with favourites such as berrylicious pancakes and tacka tacos and as a bonus - every meal comes with a free juice! Kids also eat FREE on Friday nights and with a dedicated kids play area and activity packs, parents can relax while the kids play.

Justin Lane Establishment


With views to the Burleigh foreshore and the Gold Coast skyline, the local favourite Justin Lane serves up everything Italian. You will be spoiled for choice with the mouth watering pizza and pasta options and along with vegetarian and gluten free options, everyone is catered for. The kids will be drooling over the gelato selection! Whether you’re looking at dining with your family or a larger group, Justin’s rooftop comfortably seats 70 people.

Mecca Bah

Located in the busy but buzzing Broadbeach, Mecca Bah is definitely a family favourite. If you’re looking for friendly staff and great middle eastern inspired meal choices, then Mecca Bah is for you. There is something special for the kids every weekend between 12pm to 4pm. Free fairy floss and face painting are sure to keep to keep the kids happy.
