Located off Kawana Way, directly opposite the world class Sunshine Coast Health Precinct, the first stage of the $87 million Stockland Birtinya Shopping Centre development is set to open its doors in early December.
The 10,648 square metre shopping centre features a flagship Coles, ALDI supermarket and some 40 specialty retailers including two mini majors and an open air dining precinct, as well as 522 car parking spaces.
Inspired by our gorgeous Queensland climate, the fresh food convenience centre will feature lush greenery, coastal-inspired architectural finishes and a relaxed indoor-outdoor atmosphere. Upon completion Stockland Birtinya will offer the region a new family-friendly fresh food destination for convenience shopping, having a coffee or meeting friends for dinner.
The centre will include impressive new parents amenities with private feeding rooms, children’s bathrooms, change tables, bottle warming facilities and play equipment for the kids. There will also be a unique open air immersive play space inspired by the coastal location designed for all ages and surrounded by seating for the adults. All which will make this new shopping centre a firm favourite with families.
Among the highly anticipated retailers opening their doors in December is fruit and vegetable grocer Fresh Fruit Brothers, local butcher RA Quality Meats, Saffron India specialty grocer, Birtinya News & Gifts, King IT and Sushi Ichiban, with a new baker, pharmacy and medical centre still to be announced.
Stockland is celebrating the Grand Opening with a 3-day food and wellness festival on 7–9 December 2018. The official ribbon cutting ceremony will commence at 9am Friday 7 December, and will be followed with an impressive program of celebrity chefs, nutritionists, cooking demonstrations, tastings and giveaways in the new fresh food precinct.
With live cooking demonstrations from 2018 MKR winners Alex and Emily, and favourite foodie mum – Lee Holmes of Supercharged Food, plus free fitness classes, free entertainment and kids activities, the weekend will serve up a delightful array of food, fun and fitness for the whole family!
ALDI will be marking the occasion with some exclusive opening specials, found only at this brand new location. And Coles will be celebrating the festive season with a Christmas Food Festival featuring a Cooking with Carmel demonstration in store on Friday 7 December live music, entertainment, kids activities and more!
The Stockland Birtinya Shopping Centre forms part of the broader $830 million Birtinya Town Centre masterplan development. Across an area of 18 hectares, Stockland will also develop a new civic plaza, walkable waterfront and open green space – all integrated with entertainment, commercial, health related research facilities and high density residential.
