The hardworking volunteers at Queensland Air Museum are in full preparation mode for Open Cockpit Weekend July 6 & 7.
This remarkable team have been busy restoring the historically significant aircraft on display and maintaining them for the visiting public to enjoy.
And now aviation history is even more accessible with the experienced Tour Guides on-site every Monday and Wednesday, and by arrangement for groups of 12 or more to show visitors around. The Guides have a world of experience; hundreds of thousands of hours in the air with experiences from the most basic Tiger Moth crop-duster to the most extreme Military aircraft and the most modern passenger aircraft, and in every part of the globe. Their stories will keep you enthralled for hours.
Open Cockpit Weekend this year will feature a Virtual Reality and Flight Controller display by Joyce Mayne featuring the latest technology. And, yes, you can try out your pilot skills and you can also sit in 20 historic aircraft.
See www.qam.com.au for details and for tickets.
