It’s amazing what you can create with a simple paper plate and coloured paper!

Here we show you a super easy craft to do at home with the kids or at playgroup and it’s likely you’ll already have the materials!

What you’ll need:

  • Paper plates (the non coated ones are the beset)
  • Coloured paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Googley eyes (or you can just draw them on)
  • Paint/glitter/feathers…whatever you like!

How to make the paper plate birds:

Fold the plate in half and cut a slit in the middle just under the fold. Make a fan with the coloured piece of paper and thread it through the slits to form the wings.

Paste on the eyes, cut out a piece of paper in the shape of a beak and tail and the bird is ready to be decorated. You can use whatever you have available from paint to glitter and feathers. Get creative!
