DESCRIPTION:Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is giving Gold Coast families the perfect school holiday outing with a chance to get up close with one of Australia’s most distinctive native species. \nMeet the Quokkas launches Friday 18 September 2026\, letting guests interact with these beautiful marsupials. Quokkas are found in only a few pockets of Western Australia in the wild\, and guests who meet a Quokka at Currumbin are helping support the Sanctuary’s wider conservation and wildlife research efforts. \nCurrumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the only place on the Gold Coast to see Quokkas. \nFrom 18 – 20 September be one of the first to see the two Quokkas in their brand-new habitat\, Quokka Nook. Celebrate their arrival with daily pop-up activations\, Wildlife Keeper chats\, face painting and a kids’ colouring competition. \n \nGuests visiting during the school holidays can enjoy: \nDaily Kids Activities – Face painting and a colouring competition at Quokka Nook during the launch weekend (18-20 September)\, with a Quokka plush toy up for grabs each day. \nKeeper Chats – An opportunity to interact with Currumbin’s Wildlife Keepers through pop-up Quokka Chats over the holidays. \nName the Quokka Competition – Guests can submit name suggestions for the Sanctuary’s newest Quokka arrivals for the chance to win a $2\,500 trip for two to Rottnest Island thanks to Trip.com. \nMembers’ Offers – A free Quokka keyring for the first 200 child members each day of the launch weekend\, plus a free QUOK-TAIL for adult members dining at the Homestead. \nAll activities and talks are included with a General Admission ticket. \nFIND OUT MORE
