Broadwater Parklands in Southport, Surfers Paradise, will be transformed into a magical realm of 3D lights and wonder with Magic by Moonlight coming to the Gold Coast for the first time this December through to the end of January 2025. The incredible installation of more than 400 captivating lights features over 30,000 lightbulbs.
Magic by Moonlight Organiser Sam Crocker said Magic by Moonlight is about spreading joy and igniting imagination and crowds can expect larger-than-life experiences that will create cherished memories.
“Visitors will be able to explore an underwater aquatic wonderland with bobbing jellyfish and sea turtles to lions on the prowl in the animal kingdom, step back into a prehistoric world with dinosaurs and a towering volcano to encounters with colourful fairies and unicorns,” Crocker said.
The event creators are renowned for their mastery of 3D decorative sculptures for theme parks and entertainment venues, with more than 16 years of expertise in decorative and architectural lighting.
“Visitors will immerse themselves in a breathtaking display that blends artistry, innovation, and the beauty of light. This spectacular light festival promises an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages,” Crocker said.
A portion of all ticket sales will be dedicated to supporting ‘Baby Give Back’ Charity, ensuring attendees not only enjoy a magical evening but also help to give children a safe start to life by providing essential items to families in crisis.

Magic by Moonlight features four magical realms:
- Fairy Land: Wander through the twinkling flowers, encountering fairies and unicorns in a snowy wonderland
- Dinosaur Land: Travel back in time through a towering volcano to meet giant dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures
- Underwater World: Dive underwater for a mesmerising aquatic wonderland amongst the jellyfish and turtles
- Animal Kingdom: Explore jungles teeming with incredible animals from around the globe
A range of food trucks will be available each night, offering a wide selection of options, particularly tailored to families and children.

Times: The exhibition opens from 5:30 pm until last entry at 9:00 pm.
