Looking for a power-packed weekend? Planes, Trains and Autos Festival is for you! Showcasing a variety of themed events across Ipswich this May long weekend for the whole family.
Hero event Fully Charged returns 3 May celebrating all things aviation, rail, autos and more! Look to the sky for thrilling Matt Hall Racing solo and formation aerobatic displays, while on the ground, buckle up for an adventure where you can rev up your excitement with interactive exhibits, up-close experiences and demonstrations, food trucks and roving entertainment.
The kids will be thrilled exploring Queensland Museum Rail Workshop’s enjoying Play Central indoor playground for little ones, interactive activities from Flight Tables to Sciencentre and a chill zone for sensory needs. Interacting with the emergency services vehicles are always a big hit too! To complete your experience, take a QPSR train ride on a heritage diesel powered engine, perfect for a nostalgic day out.
Saturday evening is the infamous Park and Pose where Nicholas Street Precinct will be filled with classic and muscle cars to relish whilst enjoying live music and nearby restaurants. This year will also see the addition of electric go karts to thrill participants.
The fun continues Sunday with the opportunity to ride on a scaled down locomotive of actual coal burning steam engines at the Grandchester Model Live Steam Association Running Day. If fast is more your pace, then head to the Mustang Car Show at Hotel Commonwealth to see the vintage beauties on show.
To finish the long weekend in style, the Retro Picnic on Monday is a must! An epic day filled with rock and roll music and dancing, classic cars, bikes, vintage stalls, and food trucks!
