Spin Master, a leading global children’s entertainment company, is excited to announce a new special for its expanding fantasy-adventure franchise Unicorn Academy dropping on Netflix, Wednesday, April 9, in honour of National Unicorn Day.
The one-hour special episode entitled Legendary Summer will dive deeper into the friendships and adventures of the diverse characters and the powers that are unlocked through the magical bonds with their unicorns.

It’s the summer holidays at Unicorn Academy, and Layla is staying on the island to work as a research assistant to the academy librarian. Wanting to make a unique discovery like her idol, Professor Faraday, Layla brings a Grimorian flower onto Unicorn Island that causes Glacier to lose her powers and puts all the world’s magic at stake.
What follows is a heartwarming and action-packed journey filled with teamwork, courage and the unforgettable bond between riders and their unicorns.
Audiences were first introduced to Unicorn Academy in November 2023 with Chapter Two of the series released in June 2024, quickly claiming the #1 spot for kids and families in over 90 countries. Hailed as the top girls’ show for ages 6-9 in Netflix’s September 2024 report, a second season has been greenlit that will propel the magic into 2026.
