Laternenfest

The Brisbane Lantern Festival (Laternenfest), a significant event on the Brisbane German cultural calendar, is back on Saturday, 7 June 2025.
Laternenfest 2025 will include live German music, Lantern making competitions (for both young and young at heart), Raffles, Entertainment and more.
It’s a fantastic family outing including great food like Bratwurst, Roesti and Glühwein. After the sun has set, put those newly made lanterns to use with the famous lantern parade at 6 pm.
Laternenfest is the primary annual fundraiser for the Brisbane German Language School (BGLS), a community organisation which prides itself on promoting the culture and language of German-speaking countries (Germany, Switzerland and Austria).
