Welcome to the Spring edition of Kids on the Coast magazine, Sunshine Coast!
Spring is finally here, and I, for one, could not be happier. Sure, our winters aren’t exactly Arctic, but let’s be honest — it’s been pretty bloody cold and wet. I’m ready for sunshine, bare feet on warm sand, and that unmistakable feeling of everything starting to bloom again.
This issue, we’re brushing off the winter cobwebs and stepping out into the community with a spring in our step.
Our cover story takes us to Kawana Shoppingworld — a place that, if you’re a parent, you’ve probably clocked up a fair few hours at. For me, it’s woven into the rhythm of family life: school holiday activities that keep the kids entertained, rainy days spent scoffing popcorn at the cinema, a parents’ room that’s been a lifesaver during little “accidents,” the playground, and of course chasing toddlers around that tree in the outdoor dining area. And there are plenty of exciting updates happening at Kawana Shoppingworld this spring.
We’ve got a sneak peek at the brand-new playground opening soon — set to be a total game-changer for kids (and a sanity-saver for us grown-ups). We’ve also unpacked all the bonuses that come with the Kawana Minis program — because let’s be real, after the past few years, anything free that makes family life easier feels like winning the parenting lottery.
For our education feature this issue, we sit down with the Sunshine Coast Grammar robotics team fresh from their success at the Asia Pacific Championships.
