From playgrounds to the professional stage, meet the kids who are living every child’s dream — joining the circus with Circus Fun House.
Ever dreamed of joining the circus? For a talented bunch of local kids, that dream has become reality. Each week, these young performers take to the stage at Circus Fun House, dazzling audiences with their energy, skill, and infectious joy.

Life under the Big Top
For ten-year-old Audrey, the stage has been part of her world since before she even started school.
“I started dancing at Sheridan Studio 1 when I was three and a half,” she says. “I’ve just always loved dancing, so Mum didn’t really have a choice! That same year I even got to be in my first concert at HOTA.”
Now a Circus Fun House regular, Audrey says performing alongside her best friends is “my absolute favourite thing ever.” She dreams of one day becoming a professional dancer — maybe even on a cruise ship so she can “travel the world.”
Fellow performer Gigi, also ten, admits the moments before a show are a cocktail of nerves and excitement.
“I feel both excited and nervous. Nervous because you don’t know if you’re going to make a mistake and there are a lot of people in the audience. But I also get excited ‘cause it is so much fun.”
And her verdict on circus life? “Best job ever.”

Finding their feet (and sometimes upside down)
Eleven-year-old Wynter says the show’s opening is her highlight: “I love opening the show where we come out and see everyone’s smiling faces.” Unlike traditional dance recitals, Circus Fun House blends acrobatics, comedy, and theatre with dance. “It feels different because I’m dancing with the other circus performers, and we can have fun with each other on the stage and interact with the crowd.”
Rehearsals aren’t without their laughs. “The other circus performers try to teach us their tricks, which don’t always go to plan,” Wynter grins. “We also try to talk in their funny voices.” Already learning aerial silks and handstands, Wynter has her eyes set on Broadway. “I’d love to be part of a Broadway show. I also love silks — so who knows!”

Charli, aged ten, says the trickiest part is juggling school, friends, and circus life.
“It’s a pretty tight routine most weeks, but hanging with my friends at dancing is half the fun. Homework is easy, I just do it all in one night, so it’s done for the week.” Luckily, her school friends are her biggest cheerleaders. “They think it’s really cool and a lot come to the show to support me.”
Big dreams, big energy
Each child has a vision for the future — from acro tricks and hip hop, to jazz, tap, or even performing overseas. Audrey would add a sassy jazz routine to Tate McRae’s She’s All I Wanna Be. Gigi dreams of hip hop numbers (“they not like us!”). Wynter votes for tap, while Charli is keen to bring acro to the stage.
Different as their ambitions may be, they share one thing: a love of performing. Whether it’s Broadway lights, cruise ship stages, or just one more Friday night at Circus Fun House, these kids are proof that sometimes childhood dreams aren’t about “one day.” Sometimes, they’re happening right now … under the bright circus lights.
