Welcome to the Summer edition of Kids on the Coast magazine, Sunshine Coast!
Here we are… summer.
The big one. The season where we collectively lose our minds a little while trying to keep the magic alive. It’s the end-of-year chaos at work, Christmas shopping lists that seem to multiply overnight, endless school events, aaaannd that gentle reminder that once all that’s done, we’ve got six solid weeks of keeping the kids entertained.
Phew. It’s a lot.
But it’s also the best kind of chaos. The season of connection, laughter, and sticky sunscreen hugs. The time when memories are made between wrapping paper and road trips, when we (try to) find joy in the small things: a tantrum-free beach day, a spontaneous bake-off, a day that somehow flows.
Of course, there are the days that don’t. The ones filled with sibling squabbles, overtired meltdowns, and parents frantically Googling “air-conditioned activities near me” before 9 am. That’s the beauty of this time of year — it’s rarely perfect, but it’s always memorable.
In this summer issue, we’re celebrating exactly that. We visit the iconic Happy Pops in Noosa for a local success story that’s as sweet as their gelato. Speaking of cool escapes, we take a tour of the new Caloundra Children’s Library, a place guaranteed to be everyone’s go-to air-conditioned retreat at some point this summer.
