A new way of learning at Caloundra City Private School calls for a new way of telling the story

An innovative educational offering cannot be communicated in a conventional way. With this belief at its core, Caloundra City Private School (CCPS) has launched a bold new campaign film for its Agile Graduate Programme, a creative piece that steps away from traditional school advertising to capture what future-focused learning truly looks like.

Produced in collaboration with Brisbane-based production company Stranger Films, the short film draws on the metaphor of teamwork and unity, inspired by the collaborative spirit of emerging local women’s 7-a-side rugby union players. It tells the story of how the Agile Graduate Programme supports young adults as they move together towards a shared goal: developing real-world skills to confidently navigate future life challenges.

Values such as resilience, adaptability, competence, confidence, self-discipline and collective synergy form the backbone of the narrative, reflecting students’ growth both inside and beyond the classroom.

CCPS Principal Mr Leon van Niekerk said an ever-changing world demands an equally agile approach to schooling. As workforce expectations evolve, he explained, education must adapt to meet the learning needs of students. After several years of collaboration with Dr Jamie Dorrington, the school is proud to launch what it describes as a meaningful solution — a programme designed to ensure students are “truly future ready”, or as the school phrases it, “Future Readiness Redefined”.

The collaboration and insight provided by skilled Sunshine Coast players helped shape an authentic narrative that connects education, values-based learning and the real world. Through a visually dynamic portrayal of the intensity and strategy of rugby, the film draws clear parallels between agility in sport and the agility required in the workplace.

Programme Director Nathan Reynolds said the creative direction is intentional, reflecting a deeper truth: schooling was largely shaped for an industrial age of standardisation, yet today’s world rewards adaptability, initiative, merit and self-direction. The Agile Graduate Programme, he said, is designed for self-starting learners ready to take ownership of their pathway. Students are given genuine agency, supported by strong coaching, clear structure and real-world connection, enabling them to build the habits and capabilities that matter most.

The production also features local Sunshine Coast talent, strengthening the programme’s connection to its community and the professional environments students are preparing to enter.

Tony Walsh, Director at Stranger Films, said the team set out to create a flagship piece that was contemporary, engaging and accessible to young people. In a competitive landscape, he noted, the aim was to capture attention immediately with visually compelling imagery, dynamic transitions and fast-paced editing. The goal was clear: create a school video that didn’t feel “schoolie”, instead using a strong central metaphor to embody the values of the programme in a way that feels exciting and inspiring.

On screens across the Coast

The new campaign film will launch from 19 February 2026 in cinemas across the Sunshine Coast, including Caloundra, Kawana, Maroochydore and Noosa, bringing this distinctive educational offering directly to the community.

Beyond cinema, the campaign will be supported by a multi-channel media strategy spanning digital, audio and outdoor placements throughout the region.

With this campaign, CCPS reaffirms its commitment to education that extends beyond the classroom — where learning means collaborating, adapting, persevering and moving confidently towards a better future.
