Dr. Michael Carr-Gregg to deliver practical guidance at free community event on Sunshine Coast

Parenting today demands more than guesswork. To help families build emotional strength and confidence in their children, Suncoast Christian College and Suncoast Church are launching a new speaker series on the Sunshine Coast, with an inaugural event featuring renowned child and adolescent psychologist Dr. Michael Carr-Gregg. Titled “Raising Happy and Resilient Young People,” this free community event offers evidence-based tools to navigate modern parenting challenges without over-parenting or disengaging.

Scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Suncoast Auditorium, the free community event equips attendees with strategies to foster resilience, enhance emotional regulation, and respond effectively to anxiety, stress, and emotional shutdowns. Parents will leave with actionable insights they can use immediately at home.

“Parenting today is more complex, more pressured, and more confusing than ever,” said Dr. Carr-Gregg. “This powerful one-night session will show you what actually helps children thrive — and what quietly undermines resilience.”

Dr. Michael Carr-Gregg is one of Australia’s most respected child and adolescent psychologists, a sought-after author, and a leading voice on youth mental health. Known for his clear, practical advice, he has helped countless families raise resilient young people amid modern challenges.

“This partnership between Suncoast Christian College and Suncoast Church underscores our shared mission to inform, inspire, and equip parents in guiding young people toward a brighter future,” said Jonathan Gullo, Lead Pastor of Suncoast Church.

The event is free, but registration is essential due to limited seating. The Bean Cafe will be open from 6:00 pm for light refreshments. Secure your spot today at  suncoastcc.qld.edu.au/suncoast-talks.
