New owners make a splash at Shapland Swim School Buderim

A new chapter has begun at Shapland Swim School Buderim, with Kristie and David Love-Pelletier stepping into ownership of the much-loved local swim school.

Kristie brings more than 30 years of experience in swim teaching, specialising in babies, toddlers and preschool-aged children through to beginner adults. With a background in sport psychology and behaviour, she has developed a deep understanding of how young children respond in the water. This insight allows her to deliver lessons that help children learn to swim confidently, calmly and safely within a supportive, nurturing environment.

Shapland Swim School has built a strong reputation across Queensland, with more than 15 locations, including two on the Sunshine Coast — Aura and Buderim. Purpose-designed depth pools support focused learning, and with a maximum of three children per class, every student receives personalised attention.

Offering lessons from babies through to adults, this leading swim school franchise is known for its calm, caring approach and commitment to water safety. With small class sizes, experienced teachers and a focus on building confidence, it’s a place where young swimmers can develop the skills they need to stay safe and thrive in the water.
