A bus full of hope: SunnyKids takes support on the road

SunnyKids is hitting the road with a powerful new initiative designed to bring vital support directly to children and families across the Sunshine Coast.

Launching today, the “Take a Seat on the SunnyKids Bus” campaign will help fund a brand-new mobile outreach bus that will deliver SunnyKids’ mentoring, wellbeing and school-based programs directly into local communities.

Thanks to an incredibly generous supporter, every dollar raised throughout June will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $30,000 – meaning with community support, the campaign has the potential to generate a total of $60,000 to help bring the SunnyKids Bus to life and deliver programs directly to children across the Coast.

More than just transport, the SunnyKids Bus will act as a safe space on wheels – helping children feel supported, connected and seen.

The bus will expand the reach of SunnyKids’ Mentoring Through Sport and SunnyKids in Schools programs, allowing the organisation to support more children, more often, when they need it most.

“Every seat on this bus represents hope for a child,” said SunnyKids CEO, Kathleen Hope.

“We know that early support can change the course of a young person’s life. This bus allows us to remove barriers and take our programs directly to the communities that need them most.”

SunnyKids is inviting the community to “take a seat” through several sponsorship opportunities, including:

  • $1,000 Founding Seat Sponsors
  • $500 Half Seats
  • $100 Community Contributions

The campaign runs from 8 June to 6 July, with donations supporting the rollout of trauma-informed programs focused on emotional wellbeing, resilience, connection and education outcomes for vulnerable children.

People are encouraged to support the campaign by donating via this link.
