At Somerville House, the journey begins long before Year 12 graduation, leadership opportunities or cherished lifelong friendships. It starts in Pre-Prep, where children are encouraged to explore, imagine and discover in a nurturing environment designed for curious young minds. Our full-time, co-educational Pre-Prep program is delivered by experienced teachers within our purpose-built Early Learning Centre and guided by the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), helping children develop the confidence and foundational skills they need for a successful transition to Prep.
From there, Prep builds seamlessly on these early experiences. Through a rich curriculum combining the Australian Curriculum and the IB Primary Years Programme, girls learn to think deeply, ask questions, solve problems and discover their unique strengths. Specialist lessons in Music, Art, French, Chess and Health and Physical Education further enrich their learning and help spark new passions.
