Brisbane Writers Festival
Brisbane Writers Festival 2026 invites families to discover the joy of storytelling from 8 to 11 October at Brisbane Powerhouse.
As Australia’s oldest continuous writers’ festival, this much-loved event brings together readers, writers, and creative minds for inspiring conversations, engaging presentations, performances, and interactive sessions.
With dedicated school and young adult programs, children and teens can meet their favourite authors, uncover the stories behind beloved books, and explore new worlds through imagination and creativity. From picture book adventures to thought-provoking discussions for older readers, there’s something for every age and interest.
Whether your family loves reading, writing, or simply discovering new ideas together, Brisbane Writers Festival offers a welcoming space to celebrate books, spark curiosity, and create memorable experiences.
