Grit, optimism, resilience, growth mindset, engagement, and mindfulness; these are the life and wellbeing skills students are equipped with through Positive Education at Kelvin Grove’s Queensland Academies Creative Industries Campus (QACI).
Based on Positive Psychology, QACI’s Positive Education principles and practices have been embedded into its pastoral care program called ‘Connect’, blending academic skills with character strengths and wellbeing in a positive and nurturing school environment. To strengthen the growth of these fundamental life skills, students are given a Connect journal in which they document and reflect upon the Positive Education principles and practices they are developing in their weekly Connect lesson.
QACI has also recently joined the Positive Education Schools Association (PESA), supporting its commitment to providing an environment where each and every student can fulfil their potential in personal success through wellbeing.
