The festive season is upon us, which means it’s time to start thinking about all the giving you have to do. Don’t be fooled. Those 50-odd days until Christmas really zoom by! It’s why we’ve pulled together a list of the eight best Brisbane Christmas markets.

You’ll find a range of homemade treats, luxury trinkets and unique goodies ready for wrapping. After visiting these Christmas-themed markets, you’ll be ready to leave your gifts under the tree!

 

BrisStyle Twilight Market

With a stunning illuminated Brisbane City Hall backdrop, does it get much better than the BrisStyle Twilight Market at King George Square? We don’t think so… You’ll want to bundle the kids into the car for a family-friendly night out. The markets feature 100 per cent locally handmade goods from Queensland-based designers. There are also more than 60 local designers displaying their handmade wares. You’re sure to find a hidden treasure among the stalls.

The market features gorgeous goods. If gorgeous earrings, colourful handbags, creative ceramics and limited edition prints are on your Christmas shopping list, get along to the BrisStyle Twilight Market.

The Collective Markets

For years Brisbane’s premier on-trend markets have been The Collective Markets at Stanley Street Plaza, South Bank. The Christmas edition of The Collective Markets will feature unique Christmas-themed gifts, eats, drinks and more!

You’ll find the markets spanning the length of South Bank. Among the stallholders you’ll find an eclectic mix of treasures, including homewares, jewellery, accessories, and clothing. It’s also a place to discover vintage and pre-loved items, furniture, collectibles, arts and crafts, and photography. There’s a funky vibe to the place. When your Christmas shopping is done, head to Streets Beach for a dip or head towards the Cultural Precinct where you’ll find QPAC, Queensland Museum and the Gallery of Modern Art.

Carseldine Christmas Twilight Markets

If you’ve made your list (and checked it twice) then head to the Carseldine Christmas Twilight Markets. In addition to gourmet eats and sweets to get your stockings filled, you’ll also find an assortment of stalls with handmade gifts. Stroll through the market bopping and rocking to your favourite Christmas tunes.

When: Saturday, November 19 from 4pm-9pm

Gasworks Christmas Twilight Market

The Gasworks Twilight Markets have a plethora of stalls for you to explore. You’ll find a mix of handcrafted designer pieces and artisanal treasures.

This is the place to go if you want fashion, design and homewares. The creations are simply stunning. You’ll marvel at the handcrafted ceramics and one-off jewellery pieces. There is also organic skincare and the most beautifully made children’s clothes and toys.

We love the laid-back, open -air vibe of the Gasworks Twilight Markets, which are held on the second Friday of each month. This year’s Gasworks Christmas Twilight Market will be in December, and with the festive air it’s bound to be ‘just right’ for shopping.

The Handmade Christmas Markets

If you’re hearing whale song, you’re headed in the right direction. The Handmade Christmas Markets return to South Bank’s Whale Mall this year. Hosted by BrisStyle, you’ll find 60 local creatives and designers selling their handmade products.

What’s especially great about The Handmade Christmas Markets is that you can make a day of it. Pack the family into the car and head to Brisbane’s Cultural Precinct. Explore the surrounds of the Brisbane River, grab a bite to eat from one of the local cafes and chill out on a grassy knoll. When you’ve done your Christmas shopping, head to the Gallery of Modern Art or the Queensland Museum and SparkLab for a dose of inspiration.

The Made Local Christmas Market

More than 140 makers, artists and designers will come together under one roof at this year’s Made Local Christmas Market. The event shines a spotlight on the creative and clever talents of Brisbane locals. You can not only shop the wide variety of market stalls, but have the chance to get creative yourself with a range of workshops and demonstrations.

You’ll find market stalls, food trucks, and live music, making this a Christmas market for everyone.

When: Friday, November 18 to Sunday, November 20
Where: Exhibition Building, Fortitude Valley

Milton Christmas Twilight Markets

Brisbane’s ever-popular Milton Markets will get a festive vibe with this massive Christmas Twilight Market. If you’re looking to get all your Christmas shopping done and dusted, and embrace the season of giving, head here. You’ll find fresh Christmas produce, gourmet provisions, and cakes and other sweet treats. It’s not just for foodies though, as there are also stalls with unique artisan gifts. Expect to hear a Christmas tune or two with live entertainment. Kids also enjoy the Milton Christmas Twilight Market. There are free activities and fun entertainment, including getting a photo taken with Santa.

Nundah Twilight Christmas Market

Mix and mingle at one of Brisbane’s best Christmas markets, the Nundah Twilight Christmas Market. You’ll find a range of gourmet eats, sweets and stocking fillers among the bespoke makers. There is also amazing live entertainment, children’s activities and entertainment, a pop-up bar for the adults, and plenty of photo opportunities with Santa!
