Kids in Brisbane can scoot, ride and race into the weekend with the Victoria Park urban pump track now open.
The new urban pump track at Victoria Park features a 260-metre track with bumps, jumps, twists and turns to challenge riders of all ages and abilities. It adds another destination to Brisbane’s incredible lifestyle offerings for families.
Designed to suit both children and the young at heart, the course takes advantage of the park’s natural topography, offering a place for riders to practice and improve their riding skills.
Residents seeking action and adventure can attend the free Urban Pump Track Family Day on Sunday 10 November from 10am to 1pm.
Olympic BMX gold medallist Saya Sakakibara will attend the event, which will include BMX and rollerblading demonstrations, live music, family-friendly activities, and food trucks.
“Our urban pump track is one of the first projects to be created as part of our Victoria Park Vision and I’m thrilled to deliver this new lifestyle destination for residents,” said Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner. “I encourage residents to come along to the launch event for a free, fun-filled day the whole family can enjoy.”
Further development at Victoria Park
In addition to the urban pump track, there is a new 365-metre walking track, a picnic shelter and seating, fresh landscaping and tree planting.
The urban pump track is the second major project to open as part of the Schrinner Council’s Victoria Park Master Plan, with the Spring Hill Common opening in August 2024.
Future stages of the 64-hectare lifestyle and leisure project includes high ropes courses, water holes, wetlands, a nature play gully and a Tree House lookout and café.
