Igniting a love for learning at Edge Early Learning

Recognising that the foundation of a lifelong love of learning is established during a child’s early years, Edge Early Learning is committed to going beyond traditional childcare. We look at how this Brisbane childcare service is fulfilling its mission to nurture young minds, foster a love of learning, and prepare children for school.

A holistic approach to learning at Edge Early Learning

Edge Early Learning provides quality education and care for children aged six weeks to school. With 34 centres in South East Queensland, each features modern facilities and spacious, natural outdoor play areas. Focusing on education, wellbeing, community, and sustainability, the program is tailored to different age groups and encourages children to learn and explore interests across various STEAM-based subjects.

“At Edge Early Learning, we understand that the roots of a lifelong love for learning are firmly established in the earliest years of a child’s life,” Edge Early Learning CEO Annie Bryce said.

Instilling a lifelong love of learning

Starting primary school is a significant change for children. Edge’s Kindergarten program prepares kids for this transition by providing academic skills and nurturing their social and emotional development.

“We’re not just preparing children for school; we’re preparing them for a future where they become confident and involved learners,” Mrs Bryce said.

“We believe in equipping children with the tools they need to succeed academically and personally, setting the stage for a lifetime of learning.”

A fundamental aspect of Edge’s approach is its strong partnerships with local schools. These connections create a seamless bridge between the familiar environment of Edge and the new adventure of primary school so children can step into their next phase of education with confidence and ease.

Nourishing young minds

While education is at the heart of Edge’s values, they also understand the significance of health and wellbeing and actively promote healthy eating and an active lifestyle within the centres.

Each centre offers daily nutritious meals made by in-house chefs, catering to all dietary requirements. All meals are served in a communal setting to encourage socialisation.

“We are conscious that healthy habits ingrained in a child’s first five years will set the tone for future wellbeing, and that’s why we are so passionate about the health and wellbeing of children at a young age,” Annie said.

Edge is leading the way in the early learning industry, offering mindfulness activities such as yoga and incorporating sustainable practices such as using bamboo nappies and wipes, sunscreen, and environmentally friendly cleaning products, all included in the daily fee.

This leading early education provider and Brisbane childcare service instils a love for learning that goes far beyond the classroom and empowers children with the tools they need to succeed in school and life.
