This festival isn’t only about celebrating where Bald Hills State School has been. It’s also about helping shape what comes next.
One of the most special places within their school grounds is their historic Forestry. The hoop pines were planted in 1937, and generations of Bald Hills students have grown up alongside them. 🌲
After being closed for around two years, they want to bring this beautiful space back to life and create something that can be enjoyed by generations of students to come. Their vision is to transform the Forestry into an inclusive outdoor learning and nature play space, incorporating our upgraded Yarning Circle, opportunities for nature play, a bush tucker garden and outdoor learning experiences that strengthen students’ connection with the natural environment and Connection to Country. Importantly, they are working alongside the school community, including the Turrwan Circle, as this vision develops.
They want the Forestry to become a place where children can learn, explore, play, connect and belong, while respecting the history and natural significance of this very special part of our school.
So when you support the festival, buy a ride pass, play a game, grab something from a stall, purchase a raffle ticket or simply come along and be part of the day, you’re helping Ball Hills State School to continue investing in the school and its children
