Ignite your spirit at BrisAsia 2026!
BrisAsia Festival returns from Friday 13 February to Sunday 22 February 2026. It will celebrate Lunar New Year and The Year of the Horse. This symbolises amplified energy, bold confidence, and momentum.
Celebrate Lunar New Year with Brisbane’s biggest showcase of Asian culture, cuisine, art and music. It will feature the inaugural BrisAsia Comedy Gala and an electrifying new KPOP Showcase. Lunar New Year in the Gardens and Southside by Night will also return. The festival will be bigger and bolder than ever.
With immersive cultural experiences, creative workshops, exhibitions and sumptuous food experiences, BrisAsia Festival connects cultures and communities.
Festival Highlights
Kicking things off on Friday 13 February is the electrifying Southside By Night. The event combines street, luxury, and performance cars. Enjoy hip-hop and DJ performances by local artists. There will be street food and entertainment for the whole family.
Get the kids together for skateboarding workshops at Bracken Ridge Stake Park. Join the inaugural BrisAsia Sk8 Zone on Saturday 14 February.
Step into a world of rhythm, colour, and connection with ON:STAGE. Enjoy a high-energy K-pop dance showcase on Saturday 14 February. Join workshops on Saturday 17 January at Thomas Dixon Centre.
Bring a picnic blanket when Lunar New Year in the Gardens returns to Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha on 15 February.
The BrisAsia Dance Battles return to the Queen Street Mall over two days on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 February. Watch dancers pack Queen Street Mall Stage for a thrilling freestyle competition in hip hop, popping, and open-style categories.
Sunnybank’s Lunar New Year Rooftop Party returns on Saturday 28 February. This free, family friendly event that includes fireworks, live entertainment, lion and dragon dances and kids’ activities.
New festival experiences this year include:
Lunar Soul Party on The Kite Terrace, Thomas Dixon Centre – a sophisticated cocktail event
Hyoshi in Counterpoint – a free all ages concert by an all-female Asian fusion band at Queensland Multicultural Centre
Velvet Lounge at Mr Vain Restaurant and Bar – for lovers of smooth neo-soul and R&B
BrisAsia Comedy which has expanded to include fun improv workshops at Big Fork Theatre
守破離 – Shu Ha Ri – a special BrisAsia Festival performance presented by Lord Mayor’s City Hall Concerts.
