Brisbane Winter School Holiday Activities

June 28 - July 13

Brisbane Winter School Holiday Activities

From stargazing to storytelling, the Schrinner Council’s winter school holiday program is back, creating more to see and do in the suburbs.

The winter program is packed with more than 370 activities to keep kids of all ages entertained.

Best of all, more than 85 per cent of the program is completely free.

Highlights include more than 100 Active and Healthy classes to keep warm in winter, with experts helping kids master everything from basketball, to fishing and teen yoga.

Brisbane’s 33 libraries will offer more than 160 free events, including author chats and writing sessions, while the Museum of Brisbane is serving up an exciting mix of hands-on workshops and creative experiences for kids of all ages.

The Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium will run six daily shows with free entry to the Observatory.

The Boondall Downfall Creek and Karawatha Forest environment centres will host free native wildlife shows presented by local experts.

For older kids looking to try something new, Visible Ink will take over Queen Street Mall on Tuesday 1 July with activities for teens, followed by an open mic night on Wednesday 9 July for young performers to showcase their talents.

While the majority of activities are free, many require bookings to secure a spot.
