City of Moreton Bay Libraries School Holiday Program

City of Moreton Bay Libraries are set to welcome some furry friends as Council rolls out another spectacular school holiday program.
Designed as a fun, hands-on way for families to connect with nature, ‘Winter Woollies’ will see alpacas and babydoll lambs visit Council libraries to spark curiosity amongst youngsters about where wool comes from and how it’s used. Live demonstrations of carding, the process of brushing and aligning raw wool fibres to prepare them for use, and spinning, the technique of twisting fibres into yarn or thread, will give a practical look at how raw fleece is turned into yarn. Both alpacas and babydoll lambs are known for their gentle temperament and soft fleece, making them well-suited for safe, family-friendly interactions.
But the family fun doesn’t stop there with dozens of free boredom busters to pick from at City of Moreton Bay’s libraries. Families can pick from more than a dozen free activities, including Beginners 3D printing, Improv Jam, magic shows and even a Circus Exploratorium.
